Frame + Story was founded by Steve Morgan, a content creator, director and camera operator.
After 16 years producing, directing and shooting architecture documentaries for television, including Grand Designs: The Streets, House of the Year, Megastructures and the Peabody-award-winning Building Giants, in 2025 I decided concentrate on what I love most about my work.
I founded Frame + Story to work directly with architects and developers, to create beautiful content that frames their work in meaningful stories.
For broadcast media I have filmed and photographed work by architects including Atelier Jean Nouvel, Hayhurst and Co., Sandy Rendel Architects, Alison Brooks Architects, Populous, SOM, KPF, John Pardey Architects, acme, Crossboundaries among many others. I've also filmed and photographed stadiums and large infrastructure projects including the Venice MOSE flood barriers, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
For two years I ran, in my spare time, the architecture charity York Unlocked. For York Unlocked I organised a large annual festival that gives people free access to architecture and urban spaces that are typically closed to the public, with the aim to inspire a love of architecture and inform discussions about how a historic city can adapt and develop in the 21st Century. My work with the charity was shortlisted by the Arts Council for a Digital Culture Award in 2024, and in 2025 it was recognised by The Pineapple Awards.
I was member of jury for the 2026 RIBA Yorkshire awards.
I live in York, North Yorkshire, and work across the UK.
